Radon removal

How does your company remove radon?

Answer: We mainly use two types of systems to remove radon. The most common system is called sub slab ventilation. The second system is called sub membrane ventilation. Sub slab ventilation is where we actually remove the air from underneath the concrete floor. A hole is drilled in the concrete floor. A four inch PVC pipe is inserted in the hole. The pipe will either travel into the attic of the house or it will travel to the outside of the house where a fan will be mounted. The fan then exhausts the radon gas above the roof line. Sub membrane ventilation is used when a concrete floor is not present. The floor is covered with plastic sheeting and sealed airtight. Then a pipe is inserted into the plastic. A fan is connected just like a sub slab ventilation system.
